Bryan Greenberg was born on May 24, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska where he lived with his parents and younger sister until he was 12. After Omaha Bryan and his family moved to St Louis Missouri where he lived until he went to college. While he was living in St Louis he booked his first commercial for Cookie Crisp Cereal.
Bryan’s dream had always dreamed of going to school in New York and more specifically NYU. Bryan was lucky enough to realize his dream. After studying in many of the studios at NYU including Atlantic Theater Company and Stone Street Theater. After that he spent sometime studying in Amsterdam at an experimental theater company.
“That was all gut. That was all rolling around acting like a money. All the crazy stuff you hear and think about acting class.. that wast that.”
After he graduated from NYU with his degree he booked a lot of tv roles. His first role was a small part on Law & Order. Bryan has fond memories of having dinner with star Jerry Orbach. He credits him with teaching him to always treat everyone, even the “day players” with respect.
Bryan moved to out to LA in 2001. In his first week there he booked his first role on Boston Public as well as a role on X-Files that later got cut out.
His first big movie role came in 2003 when he filmed The Perfect Score.
If you get success that early… I mean I’ve got good parents and I’ve got good friends around me but if you just go off and running on your first try… you can lose track of reality. It was blessing that it didn’t…. for me it was a blessing for my mindset.”
The role in The Perfect Scorewould lead to his breakout role in One Tree Hill playing teenage father and basketball player Jake Jagielski. Jake was written by show creator Mark Schawnn especially for Bryan. He is greatful to the show for launching him the staff and the fans alike.
Bryan landed roles on other shows soon like Life with Bonnie and Unscripted.. While filming Unscripted Bryan landed the lead role in the 2005 romantic comedy Prime So while filming he also had to film for Unscripted.
After Unscripted and Prime Bryan landed the independent movie Nobel Son and booked the ABC tv series October Road both which will be coming to the big and small screen respectfully in 2007.
Bryan is also a talented musician who’s music is taking off. His debut album Waiting For Now should be coming out in late 2007. Bryan has been lucky enough to have his music on One Tree Hill and in upcoming October Road.
Bryan is constantly trying to find new stuff to do, but in his spare times can be found playing basketball or watching the NBA on tv.
